Oscar Night - During the Day!

With a 6 hour time zone difference the Oscars aired during our overnight. Not wanting to miss out on the Hollywood celebration even if we are half a world away, I hosted my own Academy Awards viewing party this afternoon. I replayed the program using our handy-dandy Slingbox. It was a fun excuse to invite some Belgian friends over for the film festivities. We had popcorn, a "red carpet" and a wall of fame...

I had salty, buttery Homestyle Pop Secret popcorn brought over from the States (thanks Mom). We do have popcorn here in Belgium, but it just is not the same as the greasy stuff! The entire building probably wafted microwave popcorn by the time I was done popping. We started out pretty clean and tidy. But after 20+ folks came to play on our "red carpet" we created quite a mess. I'll take it as a sign of a time well played. You can see from the photo how much watching we actually did of the show (playing on the computer in shot below). There were little, little ones not even born when some of the nominated films debuted....And bigger, little ones who played pretty well together, all things considered!Check out those gowns. Sylvia, Joan Rivers would love your red carpet princess look!
The paparazzi tried to capture everyone coming and going...

Jill and Sylvia:Harriet, Archie and Baby Stan:Karen and Brady:Ali and Baby Reagan:Ciara, Max, and Baby Louis: Ciara was our big winner. Everyone submitted their ballot guesses ahead of time. Ciara got the most right. She is from Ireland so needless to say this was her first American Oscar Party. Beginner's luck!Mai, Aili, and Baby Sass:And then our biggest stars - Kirk and Connor!I think Connor may be an actress one day. Check out that million dollar smile!Click here for full album photos from our Oscars Night Day Party
