Toddler Travel

As I mentioned in the previous post August Hammonds, one of Kirk's EY coworkers and a fellow EY Expat from Atlanta, took the leap of faith and road tripped with us this weekend. I just want to take a special hats off to August for signing on for 12+ hours in the car with an almost 2-year-old. Not sure she had any idea that she would have to listen to "The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round" (complete with hand motions) at least 75 times and "I've Been Working on the Railroad" at least 50 times. Are you having nightmares about these tunes yet, August?

Connor is a rock star road traveler most always, but this time she just fell hard for August and had a hard time napping amidst her excitement. Connor would call out "Where's August?!?!" if August left even to go to the bathroom. But luckily August shared chips with Connor (endearing my daughter to her for life!) and didn't mind singing along to "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" or hearing The Best Nest read aloud a zillion times!!! And August won the supreme award of BEST EVER "Itsy Bitsy Spider" songstress. Plus she didn't seem to mind too much when our nights ended abruptly at 7:30 PM to get Connor to bed.

August, are you sure you have to move back home in May? Don't you want to stay and sing more nursery rhyme songs with us on even longer road trips?!?! Smile.
